Nishabd

Nishabd:

Hats off to RGV for his new venture Nishabd. It really is a brave step to take a film on a strange topic like this.Ram Gopal Verma and Amithab deserve applauds for this.We know 'they' are masters in their art.

The story is about Vijay(Amithab) a retired Photographer of 60 and a 19 year old girl Jhea(Jhea Khan) falling in love with each other. She is a friend of his daughter and has come to spent a vacation with her.Though the storyline can be completed in 2 sentences the narration is the highlight of the film(this really is RGV special) and also is the performances from the cast .

The film is set up in the beautiful backdrops of Munnar.Amithab and Jhea show brilliant screen chemistry .Perhaps Amithab is the only person who could have done this role. His personality and versataility is made to full use here.Jhea Khan easily walks through her character. The rest of the cast including Nasser,Revathy,Afthab Shivadasini and also equally impressive. The film is an intense journey right through.

Cinematography and background scores are something which you alwasy look forward in a Factory film;Nishabd doesn't disappoint you in these areas too. Munnar never looked more beautiful to me before.

Having said all these this RGV production may not be able to flock the audience to the theatres.
This is a film targetted mainly at the elite class audience. Also at times the movie slows down its pace.(This is what happeens to almost all RGV films nowadays).Still Ramu achieves what he wanted. And dont you think thats want a filmmaker ultimately wants his film to be?
